Recently when i use the remote it door comes down a couple of inches then stops and the interior light blinks about five times.
Liftmaster garage door only opens a few inches.
Liftmaster garage door only opens and shuts a few inches after gear replacement.
After i replaced the hears i hung the garage door opener.
In the case that the door responds to the switch then there s a good chance it s the remote that has an issue.
If the motor shaft moves back and forth through the motor more than 1 16th of an inch during operation it could lead to the door traveling only a short distance before reversing.
The door will move back and forth sometime 1 2 inch sometimes 1 foot.
Most likely this will resolve the situation.
The garage door can be operated manually by disconnecting the garage door opener from the door using the red pull cord.
I just changed out the gears with a replacement kit from amazon.
If i continually hold the wall mounted remote button in the garage the door will go down but makes a loud rumbling about six inches from the floor which may or may not have anything to do with why the door will not close.
Try replacing the batteries in the remote and trying again.
Try to operate the garage door manually this helps you determine if the problem is related to the door or the motor.

The door appears to get hung up on something or a sensor seems to be telling the door not to close.
I have a liftmaster professional 1 2 h p.

Liftmaster professional 1 2 h p.
If that isn t the problem then try opening and closing the door with the wall switch.
Clicking the remote at that point.
Liftmaster garage door opener only closes a few inches and then reverses.
Oddly enough it seems to follow a sequence every 3rd push of button it seems ot move the most about 1 foot the green led blinks 4 times.
If the door is working properly it should be easy to lift by hand.
