T his is a pretty uncommon problem but one that can happen after you ve first installed your garage door opener.

If bending the brass contacts in the light socket doesn t resolve your lighting issue you might have a bad light socket.

If the sending sensor with the amber led is not lit check the wire and connections for that sensor.
This problem is confirmed with the diagnostic led flashing five times or with the error code 1 5 on newer devices which means the up arrow blinks once and the down arrow blinks five times.
Once the wing nuts are loosened disconnect the sensors and take them off.
If the garage door has been repeatedly used this may have tripped the overload protector in the motor.
This feature comes on when the sensor detects movement.
Attach your new sensors but make sure you use your tape measure to ensure they are exactly the same height.
Maximum time is four or five minutes and minimum time is one and a half to two minutes depending on the make and model of the unit.
